  • Do you offer cloth enclosures? Sunbrella™ cloth enclosures can be ordered for an additional charge, depending on material selected. Please click to see the color chart.
  • What materials are used in construction? The framework is 3/4" x 16-gauge square tube and the doorframe is made from 1/2" x 16-gauge square tube. The entire framework is powder coated with tough black epoxy paint. The standard fabric used is 10 ounce marine grade laminated domestic vinyl. Please don't confuse this with other vinyl enclosures which can easily tear and rip apart at the seams. Sunbrella® acrylic cloth is available as an upgrade. All components and construction are 100% made in the USA.
  • How are the DoorWorks™ enclosures shipped? Individual units can be shipped via UPS. The box size is 55" x 33" x 4" and weighs 54 lbs. Larger shipments can be combined and palletized for truck shipment.
  • How long does it take to install? Installation requires no drilling or cart modification, only simple hand tools are required, and usually takes between one to two hours; depending on experience and the number of accessories to be mounted on the cart.
  • How is the enclosure installed? The frame consists of a header, which mounts to existing roof bolts and runs under the edge of the roof. The four posts (a front and rear post for each side) bolt, at the top, into the pre-drilled holes of the header, then clamp at the bottom to the undercarriage. The prefabricated doors have hinges, welded in place, which set on the welded rear doorpost pins. With the frame in place, the fabric panels wrap and secure around the framework. The unit then becomes an integral part of the cart, however since no drilling or cart modification is required, it can be quickly disassembled with no damage to the cart.
  • Will my basket be accessible after installation? Yes, the rear enclosure wraps around the basket to keep the contents dry. However, the rear window lifts up in the Winter or is removed during the Summer to allow access from outside. Since the enclosure contours around the basket and above the rear fenders, accessories such as saddle baskets, ball washers, ice chests and sand bottles mount outside and are accessible with the enclosure in place.
  • What about the summer months? We have found, even in Florida, people tend to open or remove the doors and leave the enclosure in place. In warmer weather, the rear windshield quickly removes to provide airflow. In addition, the entire rear portion can be unfastened from the top header and rolled down. If the owner insists, the enclosure removes just as easily as it installs, so the entire unit can quickly be taken off.
  • Where do you store the rear windshield? The rear portion of this enclosure is designed to secure under the basket. This seals the area under the basket and behind the seat. This creates a large new storage space, so items placed behind the seat back are stored clean, dry and will not fall out into the club rack. Also, you can simply roll up the rear windshield and the double-sided velcro allows it to easily stay in place - with no snaps or clips.
  • Where do you store the doors? When the doors are not needed, usually they are simply opened and secured rearward with a door standout-strap (included). This is very convenient when play begins on a cool morning and later warms up or during periods of intermittent rain showers. The doors can also be lifted off the pins and left in the garage or cart barn.
  • How easy is it to get in and out of? The door opening is 30 inches. The opening extends from the center of the seat handle forward to the side-kick panel (almost even with the brake pedal); this is plenty of room for even the 2XL players. We've had several senior players replace their zipper flap style cover with the DoorWorks™ enclosure, because of the ease to get in and out as well as the security provided by the doorposts.
  • What about visibility? Visibility is excellent - plus the extra large clear door panels promote warming from the sun during cooler months.
  • How do you clean? Cleaning is simple. Just spray with a garden hose. Soapy water can be used, however the clear vinyl panels are easily scratched if scrubbed before the dust or grit is rinsed away. Also note that some household cleansers can cause the clear vinyl to become "blurry". While the laminated PVC vinyl is resistant to abrasion, it is recommended that abrasive cleansers and cleaning utensils not be used.
  • Can you transport the golf cart with the enclosure installed? While we can provide no warranties in this regard, we have several customers and dealers who trailer their cart with the enclosure installed. The only problem reported was when the door latches were not secured. This allowed the door to open then blow off. If the door latch is pinned shut or a bungee strap is used to secure the latch down, the enclosure seems to transport much better than other enclosures.
  • Why don't the doors open like an automobile? The design of the doors is one of the most ingenius parts of the product. Many times a golfer will tee off in the morning when the temperatures are quite cool, But by the time he / she completes the front nine, the temperature has warmed significantly to the point where closed doors on a golf cart can be uncomfortable. The solution is simple. We have Standout straps that will secure the doors open - while keeping them on the cart. If the doors opened in the other direction, this would make it impossible to secure the doors in an open position. Once you own this Enclosure, or see one in use, you will quickly see the genius in having the doors open the way they do.
  • Do you offer a warranty on your products? We offer a Three Year Limited Warranty on the metal frame, welds, and the seams on the fabric. A copy of the complete warranty is available upon request.
  • Are there any negatives in owning the DoorWorks™ enclosure? We'd love to tell you that there are NO negatives to the DoorWorks™ enclosure, but in all honesty, there is one issue that has bothered us since we invented the product - and - it relates to the way the doors open. HOWEVER - in 2009 - we have come up with an accessory that virtually eliminates this issue - and therefore - we can ALMOST say - that we have the PERFECT ENCLOSURE! Here's the problem. Sometimes when golfers are playing in high winds, one of the occupants of the cart will forget to close the latch to the door and the wind will catch the door and slam it against the rear tire. If the cart is in motion, it is possible that a tire rub will be left on the fabric and maybe even a wear spot from the metal frame. WE HAVE SOLVED THIS ISSUE as it relates to the wearing on the fabric with our DoorGuard™. After several months of testing, we have found NO issues of tire rub when the DoorGuard™ is installed on the golf cart. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE DOOR GUARD™.
  • Will you be selling these direct? No. We believe the key to this product's success is service. Our goal is to establish a network of select dealers to provide the value added service of installation. Although the average consumer can install the DoorWorks® enclosure, we believe the majority of current golf cart owners are willing to pay the extra installation fee and prefer to have the enclosure installed on site, perhaps in combination with routine cart maintenance. In the long term, we expect more sales will be made on the showroom floor with the purchase of a cart. For these reasons we will make every effort to avoid selling direct within your region, however if we have no representation in other areas, we may sell direct until a dealership is established.
